If the victimized woman has the power to burn the world to ashes as stated in the epics there would have been no need for any nation to make nuclear weapons! How many humiliated women suppressing their destructive power within are wasting their lives in different dark corners of the world!! That might be the reason why our small state too along with 186 nations is setting the stage for the One Billion Rising’.
A divine stillness in the midst of terrifying atrocities, a few steps that make the world tremble in fear. One Billion Rising is a call to give up the dark corridors of helplessness and loneliness and to march ahead towards the unlimited flow of Energy that is Woman. It is an attempt to replant the woman in the soil of empowerment after scraping off the past and by taking up the path of love and sympathy. A flicker of light in the eyes that have lost even the last hope, the steely strength in helpless defeats ,the reminder that the journey now is towards light and not towards darkness.
Ensler has chosen a mature scheme of action leaving aside the general ways of the Feminists. ‘One Billion Rising’ is propagating the idea that echoes the Upanishidic message-- the awakening must take place within. For the same reason, it may be expected that the prayers of this one billion people would surely be fruitful. So let us wait for the day on which the minds of women break open their shells and come forward to express their Protest.
