One Billion Rising Martin County

About The Event

On February 14, 2015 we will gather at Gazebo Park in Downtown Stuart uniting the Treasure Coast to support One Billion Rising. The event will feature an interactive Zumba demonstration, performances from local dance groups, drumming, music, poetry, art, food provided by the Taco Shack, noteworthy speakers, and more. All funds generated from the event will be donated to SafeSpace and the Inner Truth Project (two local nonprofit organizations that help women who have suffered from domestic violence and sexual abuse). Together, we can raise awareness to help combat this global issue.

About The Organizer

Olivia Ranieri

I am 17 years old, and attend South Fork High School in Stuart, Florida as a senior in the International Baccalaureate Program. I am extremely passionate about advocating for women’s rights.

I was initially inspired by the opportunity to listen to Gloria Steinem a couple of years ago, and was further motivated by viewing the film Girl Rising. Now, I once again hope to unite my community to demand an end to violence against women and girls around the world.

In 2014, our One Billion Rising for Justice Martin County event had over 300 attendees and raised over $600 for two local nonprofit organizations. I cannot wait to make One Billion Rising for Revolution Martin County even more effective this year!
