About The Event
October 11 marks the one year anniversary of Jennifer Laude, a 26 year old Filipina transgender woman, brutally murdered by U.S. Marine Joseph Scott Pemberton in Olongapo, Philippines. He has publicly admitted to choking Laude, but will not admit to the murder. This issue hits close to home where in the United States over 20 trans murders have been recorded since August 2015. We must continue to educate, organize, and mobilize to protect trans lives and fight against state violence that perpetuates violence against trans communities, women, and children.
Join us for an afternoon of cultural performances, food, powerful testimonies, artwork, and dance!
